Before You Dig / Antes de excavar

posted in: Edmonston News | 0

During this time of COVID-19, Pepco has seen an increase of community members obviously staying home. With the summer weather, homeowners have been planting trees, shrubs, flowers and generally working around the house. This increased activity has resulted in homeowners inadvertently damaging underground utilities without calling in a Miss Utility ticket.

It is vital that homeowners contact Miss Utility before and while excavating on their properties to ensure public safety during this unprecedented time of COVID-19.

Call 8-1-1 Before You Dig

You probably live and work around a variety of utility lines and equipment buried just a few feet underground. Before beginning any project involving digging, call 8-1-1 to have these underground lines marked for free. Once marked, you can complete your project with less risk of injury, disruption of service or large fines and repair costs.

Stay Safe, Dig Smart

It’s not just a good idea – it’s the law. Every digging or construction project requires a call to 8-1-1 at least two business days before work begins.

Manténgase a salvo.
