The Housing Authority is interested in partnering with County landlords to make more rental properties available to Housing Choice Voucher holders with special needs. Rental properties can be apartments or single-family homes. Cash incentives for new, returning and existing landlords are now available. If the rental property can currently accommodate persons with disabilities, or if landlords are willing to make modifications to their property to make it accessible to voucher holders with special needs, this one-time cash incentive is available for landlords! The Housing Authority makes on-time monthly payments on behalf of Housing Choice Voucher holders directly into the landlords’ bank account.
As you know, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been difficult for many landlords to collect rent. However, the Housing Authority makes direct monthly payments into the landlords bank account on behalf of housing choice voucher tenants. Tenants pay no more than 30% of their rent each month, the Housing Authority pays the balance. With the current environment, now is a good time to have housing choice voucher holders as tenants.
