April is National Second Chance Awareness Month

Each April, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs marks Second Chance Month to recognize the vital role of aiding individuals, communities, and organizations nationwide in facilitating the safe and successful reintegration of millions of individuals reentering society post-incarceration. Second Chance Month focuses on increasing awareness and highlighting the various pathways accessible for state, local, and Tribal governments, along with community-based service providers, to establish meaningful second chances for individuals transitioning back into the community. For national resources available to returning citizens, you can easily access the National Reentry Resource Center website for valuable support and assistance in the reentry process.
