Crime Solvers is a national program that offers cash rewards to people who call the Crime Solvers tip line to provide information to the police about crimes. Callers may remain anonymous and if their tip leads to the arrest and indictment of a suspect, they can receive a cash reward.
The Prince George’s County Crime Solvers is a non-profit organization established in 1979 that is governed by a volunteer board of directors that oversees the program. The board consists of business and community members who raise reward money, attend community functions and promote the program and community partnership with the police. A police officer serves as the liaison between the department and the Board of Directors.

Tipsters call the toll-free number 1-866-411-TIPS and provide information to a call taker. Calls are not traced and Caller ID is not used. Once the information has been provided, the tipster is assigned a code number and the tip is forwarded to the investigative section for follow up investigation.
